An Introduction to ALIVENESS
If I had to name one emotion that I have struggled with most of my life, it would be apathy.
At first, I thought the emotion was depressed, but that comes after the apathy.
Apathy comes from thinking, ‘I don’t care.’
It comes from giving up.
Giving up on everything you ever wanted because it seems pointless to continue.
But for most of my life, I didn’t know that this was a mindset. That my mind was literally set on things not working out for me.
Success was for other people. You know, those people who just knew what they wanted to be when they grew up and they knew they could be that. They didn’t question if that was what they ‘should’ do or not. They just went for it.
Those same people just decided to be happy. You might hear them say, “You have nothing to be unhappy about.” And my brain is like, “Really? I’ve got 99 reasons to be unhappy and coffee ain’t one of them.”
And if you don’t know how to watch your brain and direct your brain, those 99 reasons will beat you up until you’re left feeling apathetic.
This is where clients often are when they come to me. They want to shake up their life and feel alive again.
They want to get out of the funk and finally have energy again.
But it’s hard to just be different when you have 99 reasons telling you to stay the same day after day.
It’s hard, but it’s doable.
And you can do hard things.
And let me just tell you, those 99 reasons…they only exist in your mind. There is so much about the brain that I want to teach you and how it makes up most of what you see based on what you believe. When you learn to change what you believe about your daily life, about what you think is possible for you, your reality changes. We do not have to physically change things in your life, but it will seem like we do because your brain changes.
But before you begin making changes on your brain so you can feel more alive, you need to activate yourself inside. And that is why I have my clients choose an Aliveness Project.
I want to share with you a video from Brendon Burchard that encapsulates what aliveness means to me. I want to invite you to watch this video below and if it makes you emotional like it did me, then I would love for you to be one of the Fabulous 5 that I work with next year.
If you have a treadmill or other exercise equipment that you’re not using, you will relate to this video and just maybe you’ll start using it.
He also shares a story about a 13 year old violinist that you will definitely be able to relate to the emotions of as a parent.
But mostly, I want you to know THIS is the kind of work I am doing. I am so passionate about putting the spark back in your life and as difficult as it may be in the beginning, you will never regret figuring out how to come back to aliveness.
Watch the video below and then if you have any questions about the work we will be doing in Aliveness, feel free to send me an email: hello@marindatervo.com
